Welcome!  That’s how we want you to feel when you visit St. Paul Lutheran Church in West Point.
Welcome is how our Lord Jesus wants us to feel with Him, as well. "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest,” Jesus said, in Matthew 11:28.

Visitors and new members here at St. Paul tell me that they do indeed feel welcome here.  Why do folks come to visit here, and why do people join here?  There are many reasons, of course, as people come with different hopes, expectations and needs.  Some are attracted to our fully accredited Lutheran elementary school.  (As a former parochial school teacher myself, I can see why.)  Visitors notice that we have happy, focused children in a great new facility, with dedicated, loving teachers.  We’ve got great Sunday School teachers, as well.

Others notice our high school youth program, which offers a variety of activities and opportunities for Christian growth, fellowship, and just the fun of being with friends.  We’ve been blessed with excellent facilities and resources for our youth program.   Our youth group, called, “Youth for Christ,” are active in the life of our congregation.

In today’s changing world, some really appreciate the fact that St. Paul Lutheran Church, and our denomination, the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod seek to remain faithful to the Bible in its teaching and preaching.  We have stayed true to the historical faith, and are glad to be Lutheran Christians.  While most of our services use the hymns of the Lutheran Service Book, we sometimes use contemporary songs to praise our Lord.

There are a variety of ways to get connected with other Christians, here—various service groups, choirs and Bible study opportunities, to name a few.

If you are considering a visit to West Point, please feel welcome to visit us, as well.  I’ve found the town of West Point and this congregation to be welcoming and friendly.  It is my hope that you will, too.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Richard Bringewatt
